Helping hands needed: Kitchen move on Fri, 17 Oct & Sat, 18 Oct

We’re getting new, heavy kitchen appliances for our clubhouse at the end of this week. To make everything run smoothly, we need many helping hands for clearing out, carrying, and a thorough clean.

What’s planned?

  • Remove old appliances & clean the kitchen: Fri, 17 Oct, from 12:00
  • Carry in and set up new appliances: Sat, 18 Oct, from 10:00

Please join one of the two slots. The appliances are heavy, and every helping hand is welcome and urgently needed.

Work hours: Your help will be credited as work hours.

Sign-up & questions: Please send us a brief message (kontakt@treptower-teufel.de) to let us know which slot you can join.

Many thanks in advance for pitching in!

Devils Aces Cup 2025: A Weekend of Pride, Passion, and Tennis

From June 13 to 15, 2025, the lively, international atmosphere of the GLTA Devil Aces Cup 2025 took over our tennis club. For the third time, our club hosted this tournament, which is part of the GLTA World Tour (Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance). With over 100 participants from 20 nations, we saw a record turnout.

Matches were played in five divisions, from D to Open, in both singles and doubles. Players who lost their opening match had the chance to continue in a consolation round, adding extra excitement to the tournament.

The traditional Opening Party on Thursday evening was held on the rooftop terrace of Hotel Zoe by Amano. With stunning city views, it provided the perfect opportunity to meet doubles partners and get in the mood for the upcoming tournament weekend over a drink or two. Excitement and anticipation for a great weekend of tennis were felt by all.

On Friday morning, matches began as early as 8 a.m. Some players were visibly nervous, and games continued on all courts until nightfall. The atmosphere at our venue was fantastic. Our bar team – Antonia, Tomas, and Arved – together with Göki and his kitchen crew, kept spirits high and bellies full with refreshing drinks and friendly chats at the bar.

Special thanks go to our organizing team: Christian, Kristian, and Christos from our club, along with Christian Drongowski and Frank Zippel. They handled everything from registration and travel info to tournament management and player desk coordination. Managing over 100 players across eight courts on a tight schedule was no small task – but it was executed brilliantly. Many more helping hands from our club ensured our guests felt welcome and could focus entirely on their matches.

There were thrilling matches across all levels. Some were over in under an hour, while the longest match lasted more than three hours. Saturday evening featured a BBQ and a raffle for two free tickets to the 2026 Devils Aces Cup. The vibe was cheerful and celebratory, with our amazing DJ Victoria Bacon keeping the party going well into the night.

Sunday was Finals Day. Finals in all singles and doubles divisions were played. At 4 p.m., while some finals were still underway, we held the award ceremony. A complete list of winners and finalists is available here.

The Devils Aces Cup 2025 was a fantastic event – and a great success for our competing Teufel players. Tournament rookie Arved Klöhn won the consolation final in Group D, bringing home the first trophy of his budding tennis career. Our head organizer Christian Krause also celebrated his first GLTA finals victory, winning the Group C doubles final with his partner Christian Manz. Philipp Kutter and Wendelin Weder reached the final of Group B with excellent teamwork and spectacular rallies. Christoph Schöneseiffen pulled off a rare feat: winning the Group A doubles title for the third year in a row – this time with partner Paul Ernst Pietraß.

Congratulations to all winners and participants! We’re already looking forward to next year when it’s once again time for the Devils Aces Cup at the Teufel club. See you there!
