The German Team Championships of Women and Men (“Große Meden-/Poensgen-Spiele”) will take place from September 8 – 11 in Berlin.
At the Team Championships, the state associations compete in mixed teams of women and men in the active age group for the title of German Team Champion of the Associations. After last year’s great triumph, the TVBB is now hosting the tournament.
The tournament will be played at the facilities of TC Treptower Teufel and TC Grün Weiss Baumschulenweg. Thursday and Friday will be played at both facilities, on Saturday and Sunday only at Baumschulenweg.
First, the teams of the national associations will compete against each other in three groups. After this group phase, the German team champion will be played out in a knock-out system between the four best teams. Two women’s singles, two men’s singles and one mixed will be played per match.
We are looking forward to many high-class matches. The matches will be played from Thursday to Sunday from 9:00 am. Spectators are welcome on all days. And maybe, with the support of the Berlin and Brandenburg tennis fans, a sensational title defence might be possible!
We are very happy and proud to present our new club collection to you today. Together with the club specialists URBAN TEAMWEAR we have developed a cool, urban collection in a class of its own. So you can wear the Teufel style at any time on and off the tennis court.
All members and friends of the club get 20% discount with the code TEUFEL20.
Preparations for the summer are underway and we would like to give you a brief update on the following points:
MEMBERS MEETING MAY 20TH
We would like to invite you to the general meeting on May 20th from 7pm.
Enclosed you will find the invitation and a preliminary agenda. The final agenda will follow two weeks before the meeting.
On Saturday, April 9th, 2021, from 8 a.m. we will dismantle our hall.
To have an estimate in advance of how many of you will have time to support us, please feel free to sign up in advance via Eversports.
There will be lists on site where you have to sign in your presence. As you all know, every year every member over the age of 14 has to work (or pay) 5 hours. Hall dismantling is the perfect opportunity to shed work hours.
OPENING OF THE OUTDOOR COURTS
We are currently unable to give you a specific date for the opening of the outdoor courts. It is expected that the courts will not open until Easter.
As soon as we can say more, you will receive a separate information.
On Saturday, October 9th, we will set up our airdome to start the winter season.
From 08:00 you can help us with the construction. We will work in 2 shifts: 08:00-13:00 and 12:00-17:00. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, please bring masks as we will be working inside the hall especially later.
Please sign up in the list on site so that we can record your working hours. You can register in advance via Eversports so that we have a rough idea of how many helpers will be coming.
Please note that every active member over 14 years of age has to work 5 hours per year. For each hour not worked, 10 Euros per hour will be due with the next membership invoice. Passive members do not have to work, but active members who leave at the end of this year do.
Indoor play will start on October 11th, but the outdoor courts will remain open until the first freeze.
On September 10th we will be celebrating 30 years of our club Treptower Teufel. The party will take place in the club restaurant (or on the roof terrace, weather permitting) from 5pm with live music, barbecue and finger food.
Since August 6th 1991, our club has been called “Treptower Teufel”. At that time, the tennis department of the former club SC Turbine Berlin was newly founded and there were four names to choose from:
TC Blau-Weiß Treptow
TC am Plänterwald
Treptower Teufel TC
The members of the club voted and a clear majority (42 out of 76 votes or 55%) pleaded for the name “Treptower Teufel TC”.
This marks the 30th anniversary of our club (after its re-foundation) and we hope you will join us in celebrating.
Registration is requested
Please do us a small favour and register for the party beforehand. That way we know in advance how many of us will be there and can plan the event better.
we cordially invite you to our general meeting on Friday, August 13th at 19:00 in our clubhouse. We would be pleased about your interest and participation. We will announce any necessary hygiene measures on the website at short notice.
The following agenda is planned:
Opening and welcome
Establishment of the proper convocation, quorum and voting rights
Appointment of the chairman of the meeting
Honouring of long-standing members
Reports on the accounts
Resolution on the adoption and approval of the annual accounts 2020
Resolution on the discharge of the Executive Board
Election of the Executive Board, the auditors and the Appeals Committee
All members are entitled to submit motions on the agenda with written reasons to the Executive Committee up to four weeks before the meeting. (§12 section 7)
Motions of urgency may still be submitted to the Executive Committee with written reasons up to 7 days before the General Assembly. Only such motions are admissible as motions of urgency which demonstrably could not be submitted in time and which are so important for the association that they must be included in the agenda of the general meeting. […]
Motions to amend the Statutes may not be made by emergency motion. (§12 section 9)
today is a special day: exactly 30 years ago – on 28 May 1991 – our club got its present name: TREPTOWER TEUFEL TENNIS CLUB! We hope that we will soon be able to celebrate this day together with you.
On top of that, we have great news: Doubles play is now allowed! It is important that all four players can show a negative test, which is not older than 24 hours, or are already vaccinated or recovered. In case of a control, the person who booked the court with Eversport is responsible for checking the tests.
On Sunday 6 June will be our first LK tournament of the summer! Sign up quickly, there are still a few places available! Testing is compulsory here as well.
From Sunday onwards, summer should finally come to us, so that playing tennis will be even more fun. We wish you a great weekend!
Doubles, as well as training in groups, will also be allowed again soon:
From June 4th, up to 10 people will be allowed on the court.
Again, the prerequisite is that you are either vaccinated or tested negative.
Our newcomer training starts on Monday, June 7th (always on Mondays at 7 pm at Stephan’s).
Until June 4th only singles are still allowed.
Matches & tournaments starting June 12th
Tournaments are also allowed starting June 4th. Of course, testing is compulsory here as well. Matches will take place from June 12th. The tennis association will send us and we will send the team captains separate information on this. Matches that were scheduled before June 12th will be rescheduled – unless they take place in Brandenburg, where competition is already permitted.
Your tests will be checked by the board, the groundsman Jürgen, the caterer Aci and possibly also by the police. Please always carry proof of vaccination or negative test results with you. Please take the obligation to test seriously, as the club and you personally may be subject to considerable penalties if violations are found. Our first experience with a police check was during the dismantling of the hall. Here we were able to avoid a fine.
The booking of seats via Eversport is still obligatory and at the same time serves as a contact tracing system for us. In addition, of course, masks are still compulsory. Changing rooms and showers remain closed.
And there’s always something happening on our Facebook page too! Feel free to follow us and stay up to date. We highly recommend a visit to the restaurant. Aci’s cooking is super tasty. Our favourite is the Oriental pizza with an Aperol Spritz! Cheers!
